Hunting Accidents

Hunting is a billion dollar business for Colorado. Hunters come from all over the world to hunt here. Hunting is safe and it is good. Every year however, there are hunters who make mistakes. Some mistakes are simple from the stand point of the law. An example would be a hunter negligently shoots a fellow hunter. Some acts are reckless, for example a hunter who shoots another hunter in the dark. Every year my firm represents an injured hunter from hunting accidents. Not long ago a hunter shot one of our clients near Sargent, Colorado, north of Gunnison. The negligent hunter shot our client in the dark on opening morning of 3rd season. Our client managed to walk downhill for 3/4 of a mile where his father and friend had a good idea to use towels and duct tape to stem the bleeding, got an ambulance and saved his life. The Simplicity of What is Priceless?

I have over 30 years experience in practicing personal injury law in the State of Colorado. So many clients, trials, arbitrations, settlement conferences, so many horribly hurt people.

How many of you think there are too many lawyers and too many lawsuits in this country? I do, but, how many of you think there should be justice for an injured mom, dad, or child who is horribly hurt in an accident that wasn’t their fault.

Should an injured person have the right to recover money when they lose income for long periods of time from being out of work when they are recovering from an injury? You’ll Never Hear This in Court

Who pays the verdict in a personal injury case? Is it the defendant? Is it the defendant’s insurance company, Allstate, State Farm, Farmers, American Family, GEICO, Progressive?
